"Minjerribah Camping" 2024
Influenced by Thomas Merton's "Angelic Mistakes," my painting aims to combine traditional landscapes and contemporary mark-making techniques, through the medium of acrylic inks and paint. In this painting I have used bold brushstrokes, cloth and palette knife work with fluid acrylics, inviting viewers to explore this seascape. I’ve camped alongside this beach, with its dancing reflections, evoking a spiritual presence for me. It is my hope that viewers are drawn into a

Garal’ is the name for Wattle flora within Wiradjuri lands. The pompom and cylindrical mustard yellow flowers grow in profusion lighting the bushland. This painting was inspired by a winter road trip on the spring cusp through the Central Western Plains of New South Wales, my birthplace.
